Major renovations eyed for Richmond Superstore
Loblaw Properties West Inc. is planning a $3.5 million renovation of its No. 3 Road Superstore location.
City hall granted the company a building permit for the work two months ago, but it’s not clear when the work will begin or if the store’s ground-floor businesses will be impacted.
In a statement Wednesday, the company said it was “unable to comment at this time as we have not finalized the plans nor timing of this renovation.”
Superstore’s parent company Loblaw Companies Ltd. carried out 78 major store renovations in 2011, according to the company’s annual report. Loblaw boasts 584 corporate and 462 franchised stores in Canada, according to its website.
