Jet Pet Resort makes Dragon’s Den deal

The owners of Sea Island’s cat and dog paradise Jet Pet Resort have made a deal with a dragon.

In an episode of CBC’s Dragon’s Den that aired Wednesday, Jet Pet owners Camilla and Marcus Dahl requested $200,000 to finance an expansion into the Ontario market.

Armed with a half dozen young puppies, the Dahls failed to impress the panel of Bruce Croxon, Arlene Dickinson, Kevin O’Leary and Jim Treliving, but one other dragon, David Chilton, saw an opportunity.

He gave the local entrepreneurs $200,000 for 30 per cent of their business—despite one of the dogs having an accident on the lap of fellow dragon Croxon.

This week, months after the show’s taping, a deal has yet to be completed.

Jet Pet Resort is a pet boarding facility that opened next to Vancouver International Airport in September 2010.
