Women’s centre hosts gala on Saturday

The Richmond Women’s Resource Centre is celebrating 35 years Saturday with a fundraising gala event.

The Great Gatsby gala will be held 7 to 10 p.m. at Richmond Art Gallery.

Come as a flapper, gangster, silent screen star or as you are, the event will feature light refreshments, a wine tasting, no-host bar and entertainment by the James Dean Trio, Sibel Thrasher, Charlotte Diamond and Cherelle Jardine.

The Richmond Women’s Resource Centre began in 1976 with an aim to empower women by providing support, encouragement, education, information and training so they are better equipped to make decisions in their own lives.

Tickets to the Oct. 22 event are $75, and available by calling 604-279-7060.
