The Croppers from Coronation Street are coming to River Rock Show Theatre on Friday, June 14.

Portrayed by David Neilson and Julie Hesmondhalgh, Roy and Hayley Cropper have become two of the television show’s most beloved characters. David has been playing the  eccentric Roy Cropper on the popular British soap opera since 1995 while Julie joined the show as Hayley Patterson in 1998. Soon after her debut, Hayley not only won the hearts of fans but Roy became quickly smitten with her as well resulting in their wedding the following year.

Coronation Street, which centres around the domestic lives of the working class who reside in the fictional town of Weatherfield, premiered in the UK on ITV Granada Television in 1960. In 2010, the series became the world’s longest-running television soap opera in production when CBS’s As the World Turns was cancelled in the United States.

David Neilson and Julie Hesmondhalgh  will share behind-the-scenes stories on Corrie’s cobbles followed by a Q&A with the audience. Tickets for Coronation Street: An Audience with the Croppers go on sale Thursday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.

Tickets available at Ticketmaster at 1-855-985-5000 or ticketmaster.ca.
