Richmond man's body found in badly burnt car

The remains of a young Richmond man were found by Vancouver Police inside a badly burnt car following a suspicious fire on the 1500 block of Carolina Street in Vancouver around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17.

The B.C. Coroners Service worked alongside the Vancouver Police's major crime section to identify the remains of Matthew Johnathon Hall, 23, of Richmond.

Investigators believe the fire was deliberately set. Hall became Vancouver' ninth homicide of 2012.

Anyone with information about Hall's death or the car fire is asked to call the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section 604-717-2500, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
