Southbound traffic on Highway 99 to the Massey Tunnel was backed up for miles today after a driver knocked off the guard rail on the Steveston Highway overpass.

A car lost control on the overpass around 2 p.m., sending a section of the guard rail down onto Highway 99. Another section was dangling above. No vehicles were hit by the fallen guard rail.
