RCMP seeking accused fraudster
Richmond RCMP are looking for 56-year-old Richard Earl Rupert, who is wanted for multiple counts of fraud by police agencies all across Canada.
Last Thursday, police say Rupert tried to convince a woman that he was a family member and needed money for emergency car repairs. The woman became suspicious and notified police, but Rupert left the area before being spoken to by police.
Police believe that in early December 2012, Rupert allegedly approached another victim who handed over to him an undisclosed sum of money after believing that the money was needed to repair a family member's vehicle.
Rupert is described as a white male, between 5’5 and 5’6 tall and between 140 and 160 lbs. He has dirty blonde and grey hair with a receding hair line, he is clean shaven, he has a pockmarked face with chiseled cheek bones, he has a large nose and ruddy complexion, and has hazel eyes.
He is known to usually target the elderly and will allegedly seek his victims in apartment buildings, senior centers, shopping centers and anywhere else he can approach elderly victims. He is currently wanted by police in relation to various incidents across Canada.
Richmond RCMP are continuing their investigation and are asking anyone who has any information on Richard Earl Rupert's whereabouts to contact them at (604)278-1212, their local police department or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
