Insurance investigators were combing through the remains of a shed Monday afternoon after it was destroyed by fire early Sunday morning at 8151 Lucas Rd., just east of No. 3 Road, between Blundell and Francis roads.

Richmond RCMP Cpl. Stephanie Ashton said the fire has been deemed suspicious, and police are looking for help from the public. Anybody who saw anything suspicious before the fire broke out around 1 a.m. Sunday is asked to call the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212.

The shed was fully engulfed in flames, and the residents of the split-level house on the property had to be temporarily evacuated as Richmond Fire-Rescue crews battled the blaze. But the residents were allowed to return to their home shortly after the fire was doused.

There were no injuries. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
