Homicide investigators were called to a house at 8399 Steveston Hwy. on Monday afternoon after an injured man was found on the driveway.

Emergency crews tried to help the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We remain in the early stages of the investigation and IHIT is working with investigators from the Richmond RCMP to piece together the circumstances surrounding this homicide." says Sgt. Adam MacIntosh of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

The Richmond Review caught a glimpse of a Mountie standing in the doorway of what appears to be a coach house at the back of the property, just west of Roseland Gate and east of No. 3 Road.

And according to a neighbour, who didn't hear or see anything suspicious Monday, she recalled hearing loud shouting coming from the back of the house that appears to be the focus of the investigation.

She believes the male involved was speaking Chinese, she said.

IHIT is looking for information from anyone who may have been in the area of Steveston Highway between No. 3 and No. 4 Road between 3 and 4 p.m., on Jan. 13, 2014 who observed any suspicious persons, vehicle or circumstances to please call 1-877-551-4448 by email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. If you wish to remain anonymous you can call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Traffic was rerouted around the investigation scene, which closed Steveston Highway between No. 3 Road and No. 4 Road.
