Man shot near shopping malls

An early Saturday morning shooting near two shopping malls on McKim Way, a half block south of Cambie Road at Garden City, left a man with non-life threatening injuries and police looking for the shooter.

The shooting occurred around 2:20 a.m., and the victim was taken to hospital, Richmond RCMP Cpl. Stephanie Ashton said.

As of Saturday evening, Ashton said police had little information about what occurred, but Richmond RCMP's serious crimes unit was gathering evidence.

"At this time, no suspect has been identified however this does not appear to be a random act," Ashton said.
