Richmond ref to officiate Olympic gold medal hockey game

Kelly Sutherland will be one of four officials making the call in tomorrow's Olympic men's ice hockey gold medal match-up between Canada and Sweden.

Sutherland, who hails from Richmond, will referee along with Brad Meier in Sochi, Russia. Greg Devorski and Derek Amell are the linesmen. All four are National Hockey League officials.

Sutherland is no stranger to working big games. He's done several Stanley Cup finals, including the 2011 battle between the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks.

Canada and Sweden play for the gold medal beginning at 4 a.m. Pacific time on Sunday morning.
