The Richmond Review has launched its annual survey of what makes this city great.

Best of Richmond 2014 is a readers’ poll of the best restaurants, shops and services in the island city. It also covers the lighter side of living here.

Online voting started this week, and results will be published in a special edition May 30.

Best of Richmond began in 2008 as a way to highlight the people and places that make Richmond a great city.

Familiar categories such as Best Chinese Food, Best Realtor and Best Place to go on a First Date are back, along with new ones, including Best Place to Spot a Celebrity, Best Place for Afternoon Tea and Best Local Twitter Feed.

Vote at www.richmondreview.com/contests. Voting ends May 4.
