(VIDEO) Fan rally for Canuck Gino Odjick in Vancouver

Fans held a rally for former Vancouver Canuck, town favourite Gino Odjick on Sunday, just days after he announced he is dying from a terminal illness.

In a letter posted to Canucks.com, Odjick said he might only have months or weeks to live.

"I'm telling you about this now because news is beginning to leak out and I wanted you to hear it from me," Odjick wrote in his letter. "I also want you to know that my spirit is strong even if my body isn't. I'm going to use all of my time to be with my kids and everyone I love."
