One man is dead and another suffered minor injuries following a double stabbing near the 6400 block of Comstock Road Saturday night.

Richmond Mounties were called to the scene around 7:30 p.m., a block south of Granville Avenue, between Gilbert and No. 2 roads.

One of the victims was rushed to hospital in serious condition, and later died. The second victim, also male, suffered only minor injuries.

"This investigation is in the early stages, investigators are gathering information and will be on scene for a number of hours," said Richmond RCMP Cpl. Stephanie Ashton.

The investigation seems to be focused on two locations, the primary one being on the street in front of a home on the 6400 block of Comstock, where a car is in the middle of the road, with some plastic tarps sitting alongside it.

The other crime scene, described as being more minor by a police officer at the scene, is at the western end of Mang Road, where it intersects with Grandy Road. The entire length of Mang Road remained cordonned off by police as of midnight Saturday.

One area resident recalled seeing an ambulance come down the street and wind up at the western end of Mang Road, some time after dinner.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team at 1-877-551-4448.
